It's Always 'Sunny' In Tucson
Following the General Going On's in the Sunnyside Unified School District

So what’s this all about?

Believe it or not, Tucson does have more than one school district outside of Tucson Unfied.  The Sunnyside Unified School District is the third largest school district in Pima County comprised of 22 schools (14 elementary, five middle and three high schools) and serving over 18,000 students across 93.6 square miles over the southern part of Tucson.

More interesting, however, is the fact that 94.4% of the students in the district qualify as a minority – 87.7% of which are classified as Hispanic.  The district is abundant in bilingual students rich in culture, intelligence and talent and this blog will serve to chronicle some of those stories.

If you came here looking for some Clarence Dupnik-incarnate rants about illegal immigration issues and another nonsense, then kick rocks.  This blog will not serve to bash the district and make unsupported claims in any way. Rather I hope this blog will help to shed some light on some of the promising achievements being accomplished by the youth of Tucson in the Sunnyside Unified School District and to serve as another reminder that Philadelphia is not the only place where things are “Sunny”.
